Card of the Week—7 of Swords—Don’t Show All Your Cards

7 of SwordsTalk about a Mercury Retrograde card! Even with all these new endeavors going on this month: support from the Universe, letting go, and total trust in yourself and your success, let’s take a look at respect for past lessons. Just because there’s a lot on your side doesn’t mean you can throw what you’ve learned in the world out the window. Be cautions of things in your past that you consider definite lessons or hardships that you’ve learned from.

I’m talking about lessons that make you say, “Woa. I won’t do that again.” Lessons that bring to the light things that you’ll never misplace, misuse, or take for granted again. This card can be about hard lessons in betrayal. Even though experiencing betrayal brings some of the worst feelings, it brings with it a self reflection that gives you the opportunity to truly decide how you respond vs. how you react. It give you the freedom to change your frequency.

You Now Know the Difference Between Trusting and Just Being Naive

Because of the moving forward and positive cards this month, feelings of mistrust or paranoia are opportunities to remember past lessons where we were possibly not as present as we could have been. But now we have new trust for ourselves. Been there, done that, won’t do it again.

No one’s pulling the wool over your eyes, buddy. As a result of these times, we’re ready to easily swim through this current and stand in our own power. We’re able to hold our space even in uneasy waters and not get shaky. Nice work.

This is also a time to count on your higher self—your higher surroundings. Gain strength connecting with the understanding that Spirit is infinite and that the reality of the body is limitation. We’re just playing here. Pulling in some amusement about life and remembering those A-Ha moments can put it all into perspective.

September Card of the Month—The Knight of Swords

The Knight of Swords asks us to value the importance of employing an inquiring mind this month!

Knight of SwordsEven though everything is moving at light speed, take the time to think things through before committing or reacting. Be assertive with your needs and what moves you forward in your own piece of mind. Then take action accordingly. It’s time to walk that talk. Confronting issues and taking the emotion out of situations is imperative this month.

For September: Be ready for unexpected situations at work and in your personal life. Your life can seem turbo charged like you’re in the middle of a vortex… The opposite of being in the eye of the storm!

Confronting situations doesn’t mean being aggressive about them. In fact, it would benefit you to make sure you check your paranoia and inner child at the gate before any heavy communication. Use that good head on your shoulders instead of blowing up before you know what’s up.

It’s also important to note that moving ahead in your success may appear to others as if you’ve left them in the dust. This is their perception. The best thing you can do is continue to focus on what your goal is, and to let go of any negativity from anyone else who would hold you back. You’ve gotta keep it movin. Stopping at this point would backfire.

This knight shows that September is the time to make yourself get off your tush if you haven’t exercised in a while. Looking at exercise and health with the Knight of Swords is all about taking account of what’s going on and making moves to make it better. Be courageous and get with it, whether it’s time to visit the doc or time for a run. You know what you need to do and you have the resources to do it. So do it.

Relationships and communications with lovers can get hot, heated, and/or heavy. Come at these conversations with a cool head this month. Reactions are in the air, so use that knowledge to your benefit. When disagreements arise, look at all the facts before judging or making a decision. Take note of and investigate the essence of the situation. Explore your beliefs and where they came from… Are you viewing the situation with old beliefs, or seeing what is really going on?

If you’ve been waiting for answers or results, this is the month. You’ll get your information and know how to implement your findings. Don’t hesitate to do just that. Move forward with what you know. Not what others deem truth.

Thinking clearly this month is important. The Knight of Swords cuts through fog and sees what’s really there. Always listen to your intuition, but know the facts this month. Get a clear perspective on situations before listening to your heart, then move forward.

Looking at and understanding the complexities of the big picture is key.

7 of Swords

Up:
Something sneaky is going on. This card indicates that tricks are at play. Someone is trying to deceive the seeker in some way. If all of the surrounding cards are positive, it can mean that the seeker is being paranoid and is dealing with personal trust issues. This may come in as a feeling that the seeker is always having to look over their shoulder—Otherwise, he’s right. Someone is taking advantage and possibly physically stealing from the seeker. Paired with the 5 of Swords, it isn’t pretty. It can indicate theft or infidelity. With the Lovers reversed, sexual abuse.

Reversed:
A triumph over infidelity, theft, or deception. Amends are attempted and it’s up to the seeker to accept and forgive if he is ready.

9 of Swords

When I see this card in a spread, I know something has happened to cause the seeker worry to the point of despair. Classically, this card represents pressing angst that keeps you up at night. It can indicate dreams caused by stress.

Up:
Swords are all about thinking, pondering, and analyzing. This card can indicate an immense amount of time being taken analyzing problems and worrying about impending doom bringing the seeker to a very depressed state. It is also likely that these problems and worry about them has been going on for a good amount of time. The seeker may feel powerless to improve this situation.

The surrounding cards always tell the story. When the seeker is surrounded by Cups, this card indicates worry over love, relationships, and emotional ties—Wands can indicate problems at work or creative block, and Pentacles, money. Paired with a reversed Star card, this could be serious long-lasting depression that requires the help of a professional.

Reversed:
Always a relief, the 9 of Swords reversed means that troubled waters have passed. There has been a recovery and the seeker can move forward confidently. It’s a sigh of relief a long time coming.

6 of Swords

Finally getting out of muddy waters. This card is a kind of like a sigh of relief. It’s not over yet, but it’s on it’s way. The seeker is moving on, getting away from past upset and old energy, and moving forward into new energy that suits a fresh purpose. It can mean literal travel, short trips, and movement into the future.

Up:
This card represents a crossroads in a seeker’s life where the Universe kicks in some luck. It’s a critical point in the seeker’s journey where situations begin to change for the better. Listening to trusted guidance will help. Things that were problematic and seemed like thick brush that was impossible to move through, suddenly parts into a path to allow passage. It’s an acknowledgment that past mistakes are being used as lessons and not being repeated.

Reversed:

When this card is upside down, it can mean a no-go with travel plans or a recent return. It can also refer to the seeker continuing on a path that is not in his or her best interest. They may be having trouble on this path already and this card shows the continuation into troubled waters. Often this can be remedied, but the seeker won’t allow anyone in to help, almost keeping secrets in order to keep the attention turned from what the seeker believes to look like failure.

It can mean pride getting in the way of a solution. When there’s a somewhat logical way to resolve an issue, the seeker is blind to it, not getting advice from others. When you see this card in a spread it shows that there is not quick way for an issue to resolve itself. It’s going to require some time, grace, and self-forgiveness.
